Teacher Development

AIR's approach to strengthening the professional preparation and support of teachers is to develop a learning culture for teachers throughout their career. Formulating policies for the professional development of teachers, designing, implementing and evaluating programs is a continuum of teacher learning. The continuum begins with formal programs in post-secondary institutions and continues through in-service opportunities, support through cluster schools and other mechanisms during their career. Professional development includes both content knowledge and pedagogical skills.
