Targeting and Resource Allocation

The Targeting and Resource Allocation component of the National Longitudinal Survey of No Child Left Behind focuses on two dimensions of federal funding. Targeting refers to the ways in which resources are directed to schools and districts serving certain special need populations (e.g., students living in poverty and those who are English language learners). The resource allocation portion of the study focuses on how federal resources are being utilized to serve these populations and how these uses compare to those for which state and local funds are utilized.
