Learning Outcomes and Assessment
Linking learning outcomes to improving the quality of teaching and learning is an AIR priority AIR has worked for decades to develop and implement effective and methodologically appropriate student assessments. Projects address the challenge of aligning standards with curriculum; designing assessments on a sound framework of what to measure; ensuring that measures are reliable, valid and fair; and presenting results in useful and meaningful formats to intended users. Types of student-based assessments linked to learning include: curriculum mastery; system-level monitoring of educational achievement; continuous assessment and examinations.
