AIR applies the state-of-the-art psychometric methods it used for the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) and other national standardized evaluations to the measurement of health and health care using patient reports of outcome. AIR innovations include the development of an Item Response Theory (IRT) software package that incorporates correct variance estimates under complex samples in addition to all of the capabilities found in widely used packages such as Winsteps, Parscale, and Multilog.
