Human Factors Error Reporting

AIR recently developed, tested, and validated a human factors error reporting system for the Federal Aviation Administration. The taxonomy will be incorporated into an automated tool that will allow airlines to identify and classify root causes of human factors oriented errors that occur during flight. These errors are self-reported by pilots under each airline’s Aviation Safety Action Program, which is designed to collect information about on-going flight operations to improve airline performance and safety.
