Homeschooling

ESSI assists NCES with the operation of the National Household Education Surveys, which estimated the number of homeschooled students in 1999 and again in 2003. The first results of the 2003 data analyzed by ESSI and reported by NCES found 1.1 million homeschooled students, up from 850,000 in 1999.
