Computer-Assisted Instruction

Advances in computer hardware and software now make it possible for teachers to tap the power of computer technology to support instruction. Teachers use computers to give presentations, now with access to a wide range of content from the World Wide Web. Teachers also assign students to use computer software that is designed to teach specific skills—sometimes in one-to-one environments where all students work at their own pace. With the advent of wireless devices, a range of new instructional activities has become possible.
