Elementary students outperform their peers in mathematics when taught by teachers using an arts-integration approach, finds a four-year AIR evaluation of a Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts teacher professional development program.
AIR supports educators and their students, as well as national, state and community leaders in the continuing effort to provide opportunities for personal growth for all—whether they are students in preschool, K-12 or higher education. Our work spans a broad range of areas, from early childhood development to professional development and training techniques that expand career opportunities and worker productivity. We conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative research that identifies effective programs and resources and also provide the technical assistance to translate reliable evidence into effective action.
Our research, evaluation and technical support work in education is conducted in AIR's Education Program, as well as in our Analysis of Longitudinal Data in Education Research, our Health and Social Development, and our International Development, Evaluation, and Research programs. Our student assessment services are conducted in AIR Assessment.
