ESSA │College and Career Readiness
The path to college and career readiness is complex. Providing schools and students with the research-based support they need at every critical stage can make all the difference for success, and ESSA provides an opportunity for states and districts to develop a more coherent and coordinated approach to ensuring all students are college and career ready.
AIR works with leaders at the state, district and school levels to consider strategies that fit the local context and are supported by evidence. AIR’s work focuses on using data to improve secondary and postsecondary student outcomes, using research to inform evidence based high school improvement, and strengthening the connection between career and education policies and strategies. We know one size does not fit all, and our depth of understanding of college and career readiness strategies helps us to customize research, evaluation and strategies to support you. We create opportunities for state leaders to support district and school staff to dig deep and understand the interventions that will work best for their students and offer resources that can help education leaders and stakeholders in the development of your state’s ESSA plan, implementation strategy, and continuous improvement efforts. Importantly, we can help states connect funding streams (e.g., ESSA, Perkins, WIOA, and IDEA) to meet the state’s college and career readiness vision.
