Early Childhood and Youth Development Studies Programs

The National Household Education Surveys (NHES) Program within the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) assesses the nature and content of young Americans’ educational experiences. A number of surveys administered over time cover all aspects of the learning process, such as school readiness and parental involvement.

AIR provides expert support for the design, implementation, and analysis of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, the Birth Cohort and the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, and the Kindergarten Class of 1998-99 Study. Additionally, AIR will contribute to the design and development of the U.S. Department of Education’s new Middle Grades Longitudinal Study (MGLS).
