Judith Littman is a senior researcher at AIR. Littman served on the management team for AIR’s Reading First Monitoring Project and coordinated the in-house professional development for the project monitors. She was instrumental in creating interview protocols for Reading First (RF) site visits at the state and district level. As a senior monitor for RF, she mentored junior staff and conducted numerous site visits around the country. Participation in the RF project also afforded Littman the opportunity to observe and report on the best practices of several Early Reading First (ERF) programs and the alignment of selected preschool ERF programs with their feeder RF elementary schools.
Littman is also participating in a randomized field trial of the Good Behavior Game Professional Development Study that is being conducted by AIR’s Center for Integrating Education and Prevention Research in Schools. The Good Behavior Game is a research-based behavior management strategy designed to enhance learning in early elementary school classrooms. She is responsible for the training and professional development of the coaches and teachers participating in the research study in Houston, TX and oversight of the fidelity of the coaching activity to the research protocol.
