Jane Lowers is a researcher at AIR, involved in developing methods to display hospital, nursing home, physician, and health plan cost and quality data for consumer and professional audiences. Lowers previously served as director of government strategy for WebMD and senior scientific director at Medscape, where she planned and developed more than 100 online learning activities on health policy and practice for federal clients, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the National Institutes of Health, and the Office for Civil Rights. She has extensive experience in developing continuing education curricula for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, including certification standards, adult learning principles, and translation of learning objectives into online, live, and enduring formats. Lowers is pursuing a master’s in public administration at Baruch College. Her capstone project involves qualitative research on patients’ priorities for planning end-of-life care.
