Andrea Guiden is a senior researcher at AIR. She delivers technical support and assistance for school level leaders in the areas of teacher effectiveness and teacher evaluation. She also facilitates decision-making meetings and workshops aimed at helping school leaders develop a deeper understanding of student growth measures as a tool to enhance student learning and improve instruction.
Prior to joining AIR, Guiden produced educational text, tools, and multimedia for projects such as the United States Department of Education’s Doing What Works project. Guiden also served as a mentor teacher for the District of Columbia Public Schools where her primary role was training and evaluating teachers entering the profession via alternate teacher certification programs such as Teach for America and The New Teacher Project. She also facilitated professional development sessions that introduced professional staff teachers to the district’s groundbreaking teacher evaluation system, IMPACT. Guiden also spent ten years working as a classroom teacher in Grades K-8.
