Carlos Rodriguez, Ph.D., Principal Research Analyst at AIR, has received national recognition for his work on issues of equity, access, and educational attainment for minority populations in K-12 and higher education. Dr. Rodriguez also recently served as Project Director for the development of cultural competency curriculum modules and for the development of national standards for health care interpreters. Dr. Rodriguez further served as Project Director for the evaluation of the Partnership for Health professions for the Office of Diversity of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) that examined a policy initiative to establish school and university partnerships as a means to increase minority student interest in health-related professions. He also served as Project Director for the development of cultural competency curriculum modules for the Office of Minority Health for DHHS. Dr. Rodriguez is currently serving as an expert advisor to Project BEST, a newly formed initiative that will deliver a report to Congress on improving U.S. minority student educational and workforce participation in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology. Dr. Rodriguez received his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arizona-Tucson.
