Janet L. Robb, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President and Director, International Development
A specialist in girls’ and basic international education, community mobilization, and communication technology, Janet L. Robb is an AIR Senior Vice President and director of AIR’s International Development Program, which has a staff of 135. Dr. Robb oversees a $209 million portfolio of activities in 25 countries, including a worldwide program known as EQUIP1 that supports education at the community, school, and classroom level on behalf of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Prior to joining AIR, Dr. Robb was director of the Education, Mobilization and Communication Division at Creative Associates International, Inc.
Dr. Robb served over ten years in development project positions overseas, including four as chief of party/national coordinator for USAID’s Girls’ Attainment in Basic Education and Literacy (GABLE) Social Mobilization Campaign in Malawi. Previously, Dr. Robb served as a long-term curriculum and instructional materials technical advisor with the Primary Education Development Program in Pakistan’s Baluchistan Province and long-term technical advisor for the Junior Secondary Education Improvement Project in Botswana. Dr. Robb has a PhD from the University of Maryland and was an associate professor at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.
