David Osher, Ph.D.
Managing Director
David Osher, Ph.D., is a Managing Director at AIR, focusing on knowledge use, prevention, the impact of school environment, school- and community-wide interventions for youth with behavioral problems and disorders collaboration, systems and organizational change, school safety, family-driven services, diversity, and the relationship between the social, emotional, and ethical development of students and their academic achievement.
Dr. Osher is Principal Investigator of The Center for Effective Collaboration & Practice; The Technical Assistance Partnership for Child and Family Mental Health; The National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Violence Prevention; The National Coordinator Training and Technical Assistance Center for the Safe and Drug Free Schools Program; The National Evaluation and Technical Assistance Center for the Education of Children and Youth Who Are Neglected, Delinquent, or At Risk; and of research that focuses on the impact of specific types on prevention and treatment interventions.
Dr. Osher has authored, co-authored, or edited over 150 books, monographs, chapters, articles, and reports. He helped the U. S. Department of Education develop The National Agenda for Improving Results for Children and Youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance and is an expert on making collaboration work. He often works in partnership with other organizations as well as with officials, agencies, families, and school communities across the country. He received his A.B., A.M., and Ph.D. from Columbia University.
