Maurice McInerney

Managing Director

Maurice McInerney, Ph.D., AIR Managing Director, is a nationally recognized expert in special education policy, and translating research into practice for children with disabilities and their families. Dr. McInerney directs AIR’s Technical Support Task Ordering Contract with the Research to Practice Division at OSEP in which he conducts policy, communication and evaluation efforts for the division. In this role, he has coordinated the synthesis of research in effective practices for special education academic instruction, including mathematics instruction. He is a former Mary Switzer Fellow at the National Institute of Disability and Rehabilitation Research where he designed and managed research to investigate transition barriers among youth with disabilities, and has been widely published in the fields of technical assistance and assistive technology.
