Nancy Matheson, Ph.D.

Principal Research Scientist

Nancy Matheson, Ph.D., has focused her work on organizational-level analysis and intervention activities, education assessment, and the study of workforce and healthcare issues within a broader policy context. Reflecting this broad base of experience, Dr. Matheson has participated in occupational analysis efforts; conducted organizational analysis, and performed numerous program evaluations. In addition, Dr. Matheson has applied her industrial/organizational psychology background to the study of key issues within the field of education (e.g., postsecondary faculty characteristics and work experiences, international indicators of education, adult literacy). Much of Dr. Matheson’s recent work has been in the area of health care research. In addition to research within the health care arena, she is currently providing technical expertise to the training division of a U.S. Department of Defense agency, by supporting the agency’s leadership development efforts by evaluating the quality and appropriateness of entry-and mid-level supervisory leadership training offerings. Dr. Matheson has a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Akron in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and a B.A. is Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
