Kerstin Le Floch, Ph.D.
Senior Research Analyst
Dr. Kerstin Le Floch is a Senior Research Analyst with AIR, whose work focuses on accountability and school reform. At present, Dr. Le Floch directs the Study of States’ Implementation of Accountability and Teacher Quality under NCLB (SSI-NCLB) and is Deputy Director on the National Longitudinal Study of No Child Left Behind (NLS-NCLB). Together these studies constitute important sources of information for the Congressionally-mandated National Assessment of Title I. On these studies, Dr. Le Floch is responsible for tasks related to the study design, development of data collection instruments and analysis plans, as well as general project management, staffing, and budgeting.
At AIR, Dr. Le Floch has been involved with several projects related to school improvement and accountability, for which she played a leadership role in the development of survey instruments. Dr. Le Floch has acquired expertise in developing and piloting survey items that measure standards-based reform, accountability systems, and professional development. Recently, Dr. Le Floch was Task Leader for survey development for the evaluation of the Public Schools Accountability Act (PSAA) in California, a study which examines the effectiveness of accountability mechanisms associated with the Immediate Intervention/Underperforming Schools (II/USP) program.
Dr. Le Floch has a Ph.D. in Education Organization and Policy Studies and an M.A. in Political Science, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
