Irene Lam
Research Scientist
Irene Lam is a Research Scientist for AIR in Palo Alto, where her work consists of managing research projects, designing databases, coordinating data collection activities, developing and testing survey instruments, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, SAS programming, writing reports, and managing budgets and contracts. As the Co-Project Director of the National Longitudinal Study of Title I schools – Targeting and Resource Allocation Component, a study examining the pattern of expenditure and resource allocation in Title I schools across the nation, under the No Child left Behind Act (2001), she serves as the main liaison between AIR, RAND, NORC and the US Department of Education.
Ms. Lam also serves as Deputy Project Director for the National Early Intervention Longitudinal Study (NEILS) Expenditure Project, which examines the expenditure patterns and early intervention services received by children (from birth to 3) and their families. She has also published on issues concerning the availability of services to students with disabilities. Ms. Lam received her B.A. with Honors in Political Science and History from the University of Hong Kong, and her M.A. in Education from the University of California .
