Mona Habib, Ph.D.

Senior Research Scientist

Dr. Mona Habib’s expertise is in curriculum design, instructional materials development, teacher training, and student assessment with focus on early childhood, girls and basic international education. Dr. Habib is currently working in the International Development Program on a number of USAID projects in Haiti, Jordan, Egypt and Ethiopia. She has also worked as an Education Specialist, in the Center for International Research on various projects including Brazilian/Bahia student assessment, teacher training modules for the Africa Bureau, Improving Educational Quality project, and the Girls’ Education project, designing, training, and implementing programs.

Prior to joining AIR, Dr. Habib worked on a number of USAID projects overseas in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. In Africa, she worked in Guinea, Mali, Ghana, and Uganda developing teacher training programs and instructional materials to promote and enhance girls’ education. In the Middle East, she worked in Lebanon and Jordan on environmental educational programs. In Asia, Dr. Habib worked as a long-term consultant for Pakistan Primary Education Project under USAID to provide technical assistance in improving the quality of education in the North West Province of Pakistan. Under UNICEF, she also worked with Afghan education project to improve the quality of education for Afghan children.
