David Baker, Ph.D.
Principal Research Scientist
David Baker, Ph.D., is a Principal Research Scientist at AIR in Washington, DC. Dr. Baker holds a Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of South Florida where his research concentrated on job analysis, performance measurement, and the assessment center method. Dr. Baker has conducted numerous job analyses and developed new employee selection procedures for law enforcement. This work included: designing both content and criterion-related validation studies; developing test specifications and items for written exams; identifying and collecting job performance criterion data; pilot testing and collecting data on all new test items; performing all item, adverse impact, reliability, and validity analyses; and selecting final test items and preparing final test forms. More recently, Dr. Baker research interests have focused on teams and team performance measurement. He has conducted applied research on team training and human performance measurement issues for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), NASA-Ames Research Center, and several major U.S. airlines. Dr. Baker has published and/or presented over 50 papers on his work.
