Lori Agin

Principal Communication Specialist

Lori Agin leads AIR’s regional office in Atlanta. Ms. Agin has 13 years of healthcare marketing and communications experience. She is the project director of marketing and communications programs for several divisions, branches, and programs within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including the Cardiovascular Health Branch, Division of Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities. In her work she develops and implements strategic communication plans, develops a variety of toolkits that help state health departments mobilize communities to eliminate syphilis, affectively work with business to develop worksite heart disease and stroke prevention programs, and orchestrate workshops addressing diabetes prevention and management at the worksite. On behalf of the National Diabetes Education Program, Ms. Agin spearheaded the development and marketing of diabetesatwork.org, the first online resource for employers to address diabetes prevention and management at the workplace. She is also overseeing the development of a series of health promotion tools that will encourage regular breast cancer screening among women with physical disabilities. In addition, Ms. Agin provides communication technical assistance to State Planning Grantees receiving Health Resource Services Administration grants addressing state health insurance issues.
