More than 55 AIR Researchers to Present at the Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association

Washington, D.C. - More than 55 researchers from the American Institutes for Research (AIR) will participate in the annual meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), which will be held April 13-17, 2009 in San Diego, California. The meeting attracts submissions from leading education researchers from across the United States and around the world.

AIR experts will discuss a broad range of topics including teacher professional development, school safety, early college high schools, the performance of U.S. students and their international peers, social and emotional conditions of learning, National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) findings, and school improvement.

AERA is a national research society that was founded in 1916 and now has 26,000 members. Its stated mission is to strive “to advance knowledge about education, to encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and to promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.”

A program describing presentations by AIR staff is available at www.air.org.
