Successful schools must create and maintain effective conditions for learning. This AIR briefing will focus on the evidence base for implementing a continuum of supports focused on the learning conditions for children from early education through grade 12.

Research shows that getting suspended or expelled increases students’ risk for falling into unproductive behavior. Because students of color, males and those from low-income backgrounds are suspended in disproportionate numbers, schools need to take measures that don't impede academic success.

News: Study: Zambia’s Cash Transfer Program Feeds Youngsters and Helps Families Strengthen Their Financial Base
A two-year randomized control trial evaluating Zambia’s Child Grant social cash transfer program found dramatic improvements in the amount of food and clothing going to infants and young children in high poverty families, and a 50 percent increase in the total value of crops produced by households receiving the aid.
