Translating Comparative Effectiveness Reports for Consumers and Clinicians

AIR supports the John M. Eisenberg Clinical Decisions and Communications Science Center (The Eisenberg Center) in turning comparative effectiveness research into practical information for decision making. AIR conducts formative research through focus groups and interviews with target audiences (e.g., clinicians, consumers, and policy-makers) to identify key messages, decision points, and user needs that guide the development of materials based on comparative effectiveness reviews. AIR also conducts in-depth (“cognitive”) testing to evaluate draft materials for readability and usefulness in decisions about treatments.
