Statistics and Psychometrics
AIR has an ongoing advanced psychometrics research and development program that works alongside day-to-day operations. This results in better-designed field tests, more stable calibrations, more accurate equating and linking, and more sophisticated use of the data.
Research-Oriented Approach
Interactive Graph Our active research and development program ensures that our clients benefit from advances in psychometrics.
AIR uses scientific sampling for field tests and advanced models for linking and equating to ensure stable test results. We customize our appproach to the specific needs of each assessment program to obtain the best possible data and statistics.
Tracking Student Progress
Interactive Graph We use advanced statistics to present data that can be used to improve teaching and learning.
AIR uses advanced statistical methods to get the most information from the data. Some examples of this include studies on international linking, value-added models under the umbrella of NCLB, and measuring real growth among special student populations.
International Benchmarking
Interactive Graph AIR is working with national and international organizations to benchmark U.S. tests against international tests.
Our psychometricians, led by Dr. Gary Phillips, have conducted many statistical studies that link NAEP to international tests, and we are currently working to benchmark individual state tests to international standards.
