Special Education
Federal, state, and local projects designed to improve outcomes for children with disabilities, other disadvantaged children and their families are part of AIR's work in special education.
We analyze and synthesize information related to policy initiatives in special education and early intervention. We assess and develop special education fiscal policy alternatives, measure special education costs, and conduct program evaluations such as the adequate yearly progress of students with disabilities.
AIR provides technical assistance support for implementing evidence-based practices in each of the 50 states and 10 U.S. territories, as well as hundreds of local school districts.
