The Federal Statistics Program, created in January 2006, replaces AIR's Education Statistics Services Institute (ESSI). It provides developmental, analytical, methodological, and operational support to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) http://nces.ed.gov/, Institute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of Education. Our staff works with NCES on a wide range of activities related to producing statistics about education.
The program maintains a core full-time staff dedicated solely to working with NCES. Senior staff hold advanced degrees in a wide variety of behavioral science and technical fields—economics, education, human development, policy research, political science, psychology, sociology, and statistics.
Our team approach has produced an innovative community of experts, who work collaboratively to conceptualize, develop, and communicate the high quality information that is needed for advancing knowledge about the state of education.
