AIR conducts several types of work in the area of school reform. Our work involves the full toolkit available to social scientists, from quantitative to qualitative methods and surveys, to case studies, to direct observation.

Our work includes research on core school reform issues, such as designing and testing professional development strategies through a randomized field trial and the role of systemic approaches to school reform.

AIR also conducts research on, and evaluations of, specific reform programs and strategies, such as the Network Grants Program, the National Longitudinal Study of No Child Left Behind, and the National Longitudinal Evaluation of Comprehensive School Reform. 

We apply state-of–the-art methods to the analysis of data, including data on student achievement.

Finally we provide direct technical assistance on research-driven school reform through a variety of centers
