AIR staff members help to address many our nation’s most pressing school reform
and improvement issues through research, evaluation, implementation monitoring,
and technical assistance. Our projects support the effective implementation and
study the impact of federal, state, and local school reform programs, policies,
and initiatives.
- Research and Evaluation. AIR works with districts, states, the
federal government, foundations, and other clients to carefully frame meaningful
research and evaluation questions, judiciously apply a variety of qualitative and
quantitative research methodologies to determine the impact and significance of
improvement initiatives, and produce reports that can be used to inform policy and
practice.
- Policy Implementation Monitoring. AIR provides services to monitor
the local, state, and national implementation of state and federal policy initiatives
aimed at significantly enhancing student outcomes, and offers guidance that helps
to improve ongoing and future policy and practice.
- Technical Assistance. AIR creates and maintains a variety of national
technical assistance and resource centers that help educators and policymakers identify,
select, and implement effective practices, programs, and policies to help all students
achieve at higher levels.
