AIR has conducted numerous program evaluations and policy analyses to assess the effectiveness of federal- and state-funded early childhood programs. In addition, AIR has worked with agencies to develop and implement comprehensive, results-oriented evaluation systems for a variety of child care and development programs.
AIR has provided a structure for organizing resource and cost information for use in program evaluation and cost-effectiveness research. Staff members have conducted cost analyses using a "bottom-up" approach that relies on information from service providers. This methodology is designed to improve policy and practice related to resource allocation decisions for child care and development programs.
AIR has worked with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Education, and with individual states in the development of content, process, and performance standards and measures.
AIR has partnered with local, state, and federal agencies to provide direct technical assistance, restructure national training and technical assistance systems, and develop training materials for program staff.
