Children challenged by mental health problems have no clear path to their potential as significant contributors to society. Despite their strengths, they face daunting obstacles, often dropping out of school, abusing drugs or alcohol, or getting into trouble with the law. To successfully improve these outcomes, we must address two fundamental issues:

  • Infrastructure: We must organize and support local coordination of multi-agency activities that address the needs and encourage the strengths of children, their families, and their communities.
  • Knowledge Use: We must bridge the gap between the evidence-based paradigms and the routines of practice in communities.

To support infrastructure, knowledge use, and other needs, AIR offers a wide range of services for programs that offer help to children with emotional and behavioral disturbances and their families.
