Vision
It is AIR’s vision to solve significant societal problems and improve the quality of life of all people. AIR is a leading applied behavioral and social science research organization dedicated to providing governments and the private sector with responsive services of the highest quality by applying and advancing the knowledge, theories, methods, and standards of the behavioral and social sciences.
Central Ideas
AIR’s vision statement contains several important ideas, all of which deserve special emphasis and some elaboration:
It assumes that AIR should be concerned primarily with the application of the theories, methods, and knowledge generated by the behavioral and social sciences to social problems. It makes clear that our highest priority is on applying our expertise to solve problems.
It places significant emphasis on the integral relationship between quality and serving the needs of our clients. In this regard, it means providing our sponsors, clients, and customers with work products of the highest quality and high quality service.
Finally, it means we are constantly striving to be a major institutional force in our society, a thought leader and a generator of new knowledge: a major player affecting policy and practice. We want to make a difference.
To achieve such a vision, we maintain a diverse staff, reflecting cultures and experiences, who are first-rate behavioral and social scientists and other experts with sufficient depth in all major areas.
