American Institutes for Research President and CEO Jessica Heppen Honored Among Washingtonian Magazine’s 500 Most Influential People of 2024

Heppen made the list of the city's top policy influencers for efforts shaping education reform

American Institutes for Research (AIR) President and CEO Jessica Heppen has been named one of Washingtonian Magazine’s 500 Most Influential People in Washington, D.C. for 2024. The annual list highlights leading experts and advocates outside the government who are playing instrumental roles in shaping policy reform.

Heppen, the first woman to lead AIR in its 77-year history, was recognized as one of 16 education experts whose work addresses some of the biggest challenges in the U.S. education system. She is noted for leading incisive research and evaluation studies on topics including the effects of online learning and improving student attendance through text messaging.

Heppen is in the company of distinguished honorees across various sectors such as civil rights and criminal justice, climate and environment, economic policy, and health care.
